 2010 NBA PICKS

NBA Pick of the Week - March 12

For my first NBA Pick of the Week, I will be taking the San Antonio Spurs (-5) at the Minnesota Timberwolves. This is usually the type of game that goes against me. I'm trying to find a reason why the line is as low as it is. San Antonio has been playing good recently and Minnesota hasn't been playing that badly, but they have loss their last three games by at least 10 points.

I decided to dig deeper, thinking that maybe the matchup itself may be the key. San Antonio has beaten the Timberwolves by at least 6 points each of their last four matchups. Not only that, but the Spurs have also won against the line in each of those matchups. There is nothing at all that suggests Minnesota will make this a close game, even at home. More than likely free throws should cover this score at the end if it is close.

Just like last night with my NHL picks, I'm going to try to make a second pick for this week and try to start off 2-0. My second pick is going to be the Over (210) on the New York Knicks at the Memphis Grizzlies. Both teams have had pretty good offenses recently, especially the Grizzlies. I can see this game easily going over that total tonight.

Top NBA News

One of the top rumors flying around the NBA is that Joe Johnson may be headed from the Atlanta Hawks to the New York Knicks.

Details about the possible trade aren't quite clear yet, but this would be yet another trade that doesn't make sense for New York unless they have found a way to ship off one or more of their other shooting guards.

I know that Tracy McGrady hasn't worked out so far, but what are you going to have to give up in order to get Johnson? If your first round pick is involved then I would say no to the deal.

Somebody needs to tell the Knicks that they need to build a team the right way, but they seem incapable of doing it.
