MLB Spring Training
Spring
Training games are upon us. However, I don't ever
put any stock in betting on preseason baseball
games. There are just too many variables and
different players and pitchers every couple of
innings. I won't be making any MLB picks until the
start of the regular season in early April.
Would you like to take a look at some of the preseason MLB predictions?
Take a look at this
2011 MLB predictions article that I found.
2010 MLB News
The big news of the offseason in my mind was the rich getting richer when the New York Yankees got Curtis Granderson from the Detroit Tigers. Being able to upgrade from Johny Damon will make them the clear favorites to repeat this year.
I'm not exactly so sure about the Detroit Tigers though, who decided to ship Granderson off, only to pick up Damon as his replacement. If the Tigers objective was to trim salary, they didn't do a good job of it, paying Damon $8 million this year.
Not only that, but they also spurned another one of their best players by not offering Placido Polanco arbitration and letting him slip away to the Phillies.
These two teams are going to be headed in opposite directions this year.
